Services / CTO & executive advisory
Know what to commit to.
And how to deliver.
A technology decision can commit years of budget, shape the team and constrain the business. I help leadership teams examine the choices, make the call and follow it through.
Three ways to work together
Technology strategy & investment
Decide what to fund. And what not to.
Assess build-or-buy choices, platform changes and AI proposals against business priorities, cost, dependencies and risk.
For CEOs, founders and executive teams facing a material technology commitment.
What you leave with. A written recommendation with options, assumptions, cost and risk ranges, and a sequence of decisions. Targeted technical investigation where it changes the choice.

Find out why delivery is falling short.
Test whether the constraint is architecture, ownership, workflow or an unrealistic commitment. Assess AI by its effect on delivery cost and quality, not code volume.
For leaders whose engineering spend is not translating into reliable delivery.
What you leave with. An agreed diagnosis, priorities for change, decision owners and measures for cost, lead time and quality. Support through the changes and a review of what actually improves.

Put technical judgment into the leadership team.
Work through technology strategy, organisation design, vendor choices and risk. Challenge proposals and stay involved as decisions become delivery commitments.
For CEOs and founders who need a senior counterpart, or a defined fractional CTO remit.
What you leave with. Direct advisory support or fractional CTO leadership, with an explicit remit, decision authority, review schedule and measures agreed up front.

What you are
paying for.
A recommendation you can act on, the reasoning to challenge it, and support with the decisions that follow.
The value may be bringing a viable product to market, removing a constraint on growth, or avoiding a platform commitment the business cannot support. We identify the outcome that matters to your business and how to assess it.
You work directly with me on the recommendation and the follow-through. I examine the systems and work with the people responsible for delivery, so that the advice accounts for what the organisation can actually do.
In an advisory engagement, your leadership team retains decision authority. For fractional CTO work, we explicitly agree the authority and delivery responsibilities I take on.
Before starting, we agree the business question, access needed, scope, fees and review points. If the evidence supports a smaller commitment or stopping, that is what I will recommend.
